Mike Baldonado

Workface Planning Coordinator

Hailing from the rugged shores of Newfoundland, Canada, Mike embarked on his journey in the construction industry back in 1998. Starting from humble beginnings in the construction trades, he honed his skills and work ethic, laying a solid foundation for his future endeavors. It was his relocation to Alberta in 2005, however, that catapulted him into the upper echelons of construction management within the oil, gas, and mining sectors.

Ascending swiftly through the ranks, Mike assumed pivotal EPCM management roles on multi-billion dollar mega projects, where he thrived amidst the complexities and challenges inherent with large scale industrial projects. It was during this time that he became deeply involved in the early stages of workface planning (WFP), which evolved into advanced work packaging (AWP). Through his dedication and expertise, Mike emerged as a recognized subject matter expert in the AWP/WFP field, applying his knowledge across numerous mega projects over the past decade to streamline processes and optimize project delivery.

Beyond the hustle and bustle of construction sites and boardrooms, family is at the heart of Mike’s life. As a devoted husband and father of two teenagers, he treasures moments spent with loved ones, embracing the simple joys of shared experiences and laughter. Together, they embark on adventures, create lasting memories, and find fulfillment in each other’s company.

With a blend of expertise in construction management, advanced work packaging, and a commitment to family, Mike brings a holistic perspective to his role at Insight-AWP. Driven by a passion for excellence and innovation, he is dedicated to contributing to the success and growth of the team, leaving a lasting impact on the projects they undertake.
